Ecosystems
In Ecosystems, we make replicas of a natural ecosystem community. You can watch life grow from its beginning all the way to the end. As you watch this, you will be fascinated by life itself. The students will be able to marvel at life and have fun doing it. They will watch different types of plants like Duckweed, Rye Grass, Alfalfa, Mustard Grass, and Elodea as well as different animals like Snails, Crickets, Plants, Guppies, and Pill bugs grow, live, and possibly die. They will be taught how to live correctly with nature and how to take care of it. Dependence and Interdependence among the living specimens within the eco-column are the main focus. It will be a wonderful experience for everyone!
Ecosystems are made out of plastic 2 liter bottles. They have 3 sections made up of a connecting piece , a terrarium, and an aquarium. Naturally, they have the duckweed, elodea, snails and guppies in the aquarium. The grasses, crickets, and pill bugs are in the terrarium.

Ecology
Ecology is the study of our environment, the effects of pollution on our environment as well as on us, and how everything in our environment interacts with everything else to produce the air we breathe and the water we use.
We build mini landfills to explore how and if the Earth absorbs the many different items we so casually throw away. We bury popsicle sticks, foil, paper, a marble, green beans, button, rubber band, and a piece of cloth into soil with green bean juice over it. We check the decomposition of various, common items found littering our environment. After testing the PH balance of different types of water, we build Filtration Systems to check the amount of sediment and particles that are found in our neighborhood lakes and ponds, in the Fox River, in our creek, and in rain water.

Landforms
The Landforms Module consists of five investigations that introduce students to these fundamental concepts in earth science: change takes place when things interact; all things change over time; patterns of interaction and change are useful in explaining landforms. Students also learn about some of the tools and techniques used by cartographers and use them to depict landforms.

Levers and Pulleys-No longer taught :(
Humans are the only living creatures that have been able to put materials together to construct machines to do work. Our capacity to see and invent relationships between effort and work produced through simple machines has led us into a world that is becoming more technologically oriented. Knowledge of these relationships is necessary for understanding all mechanics. The Levers and Pulleys Module consists of four investigations that involve students in fundamental concepts of simple machines.
